About Us

Our Cafe

Patricia Coffee Brewers is owned and run by best mates Bowen Holden and Pip Heath. The name Patricia comes from their respective grandmothers (both sadly no longer with us) and is meant as a warm tribute to two amazing women who have been very influential in their lives.

Ever since opening in 2011 we have endeavoured to give an amazing service experience to every single customer. Our team has been super important in helping us achieve this and we have been very lucky over the years to work with a host of amazing people.

We opened in a time when few cafes used coffee from multiple roasters, and we were excited to showcase our favourite Melbourne coffee, including Seven Seeds, Market Lane, Small Batch, Proud Mary, Everyday, Blume, Core, Manta Ray, Fieldwork, Craftwork and others.

In 2016 we started roasting our own coffee at Bureaux Collective (now Fieldwork) giving us even more of a connection with our product, as well as more control over the way it tastes.

Since April 2024 we've been roasting all of our coffee at our own roastery in Gaffney St, Coburg North. There we roast everything on our very own Loring S15 Falcon.

At Patricia we offer a bounty of delicious goods from our favourite local bakeries, including Baker Bleu, Mörk, Small Batch, Sucette, Little Bertha, All Are Welcome and others. A lot of bakeries supplying one tiny coffee shop, sure, but we want the yummiest treats we can find.

The utmost care is taken to be present and connected with anyone who has gone out of their way to visit us. We sincerely hope that if you come and see us, you can tell.

 

Our Menu

The idea behind our menu at Patricia is to simplify the options as much as possible, with the aim of making the ordering process more streamlined and to take the focus off the less important particulars like how frothy the milk is and what type of vessel it's in.

Our espresso machine is a La Marzocco Strada, and we offer our seasonal 'House' and a smaller lot 'Guest' espresso, both roasted by us. Check those out here.

White

Our typical 'White' coffee is a double shot of our House or Guest espresso, with nice creamy milk, steamed to between 57°C and 60°C. We're always happy to make any adjustments to that recipe to suit you of course.

We offer these milk options:

Black

A 'Black' coffee can be made how you like, typically as a single or double espresso, or as a long black, which we make with a double shot and 70mL of 70°C water.

Filter

Our filter coffee is carefully batch brewed and we normally have one or two options, selected from our current offerings.
